The Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Autofocus Lens is a standard zoom lens with high optical performance. This lens has an Image Stabilizer and high zoom ratio. With the Image Stabilizer turned on, you can obtain sharp, natural-looking pictures in dim lighting without using flash or a tripod. Very handy for places where flash is prohibited. Uses ring-type USM for swift, silent autofocus and full-time manual focus.

NOTE ON PACKAGING: This 28-135mm lens was originally packaged with a Canon Digital SLR Camera & Lens Kit, and never included its own outer box. It still includes ALL original accessories (the Canon Full Warranty Card, Instruction Manuals and Lens Caps). This lens is all BRAND NEW and has NEVER been used.

The Precision Design EW-78B II Lens Hood is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, you also get the added benefit of extra protection from accidental impact.

The Vivitar UV Filter blocks out unwanted ultraviolet light and prevents the UV "fogging/haze" effect, which can result in inaccurate color and lower the apparent sharpness. This filter is also ideal for protecting your valuable lens from scratches and dust.

The unique design of the Original Lenspen utilizes a retractable soft brush that sweeps dust and loose particles away from the glass, and a special dry cleaning compound that gently removes fingerprints and spots.

This 6-piece cleaning kit contains a Hurricane Air Blower, Lens Cleaning Tissues, Lens Cloth, Lens Cleaning Liquid, Brush and Cotton Swabs.

 "Made a great gift" 2009-09-12
By Evan B. Pulver
Bought as a gift. He loves it and feels like a professional now. Shipped on time and it was brand new and in great shape.

"fast shipment and great product" 2009-06-15
By K. LAU
the shipment came very fast (within 1 week). It came as what other reviewers described: well-packaged, with canon warranty card, etc. the accessory are in good condition and useful as well. the lens is a bit heavier & bigger than i thought. I have used the EF-S 17-85mm which should have similar focal length but with later technology. I know the 28-135 should be bigger than the other but i personally find the 17-85mm is an easier travel lens. However, due to the good price and the consideration of EF vs EF-S lens, I chose 28-135mm instead. Overall, it gives me very very satisfactory shooting results.

 "Good lens, great value" 2009-06-06
By Curtis Gee (Nor Cal, USA)
I used this lens to replace the kit lens (18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 non-IS) that came with my Rebel XTi. This lens is now my main walkaround lens.

Image quality is pretty good. The IS really comes in handy, although it is an older version of IS that doesn't have a separate mode for panning. One downside is my copy tends to have a little lens creep.

This kit containing the filter, cleaning kit, etc, is a really good value. The cleaning kit actually contains usable stuff.

I have to mention that the vendor, Cameta Camera, shipped this lens kit EXTREMELY WELL PACKED. Cameta made sure everything was enclosed in bubble wrap and packaged in a way that the lens would not be damaged during shipping.

In sharp contrast, a 70-200mm L f/4 lens that I ordered directly through Amazon (not Cameta) was very poorly packed.

 "Great lens!" 2009-05-19

I read all the reviews for this lens and then purchased it and they are correct. It is a tic heavy but produces excellent images. I really like it.

 "Awesome Price!!!!" 2009-04-30
By R. Ladouceur (Sumter, SC USA)
Excellent kit. Lens takes awesome photos. Best price on the internet for brand new 28-135mm lens, plus you get all the extras included. This lens does not come in original packaging. This was probably taken out of a camera/lens kit and sold separately. There website shows that it is not in box but it did not explain this on the Amazon website. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. However, it comes with all Canon warranty paperwork and is packaged very well. Fast shipping, too. I received it 5 days faster than it said I would when I ordered it. Only took about 1 week. I will purchase from them again.
